To obtain a New York State  Real Estate Salesperson License you have to:
1. Complete a state-certified 75-hour pre-licensing qualifying course.
2. Pass the New York State test, a 1.5 hour exam given each Tuesday in New York City.  You can take the test either before or after you complete the pre-licensing course.
3. Find a New York State licensed real estate broker to sponsor you.
File your license application and appropriate fees in person with the Department of State in  Manhattan, or send it to Albany for processing and receive it by mail at your Brokers office.
