The New York State 75-hour qualifying course is a main step in the process of becoming a licensed real estate agent. Upon completion of the Pre-Licensing Course, and passage of a 2-hour New York State certified school exam, you will receive a Brooklyn School of Real Estate Certification of Satisfactory Completion. With school certification and completion of all other New York State requirements , you will receive your New York Real Estate Salespersons License.
To obtain a New York State Real Estate Salesperson License you have to:
1. Complete a state-certified 75-hour pre-licensing qualifying course.
2. Pass the New York State test, a 1.5 hour exam given each Tuesday in New York City. You can take the test either before or after you complete the pre-licensing course.
3. Find a New York State licensed real estate broker to sponsor you.
File your license application and appropriate fees in person with the Department of State in Manhattan, or send it to Albany for processing, or on-line and receive it by mail at your Brokers office.
